Your privacy, simply explained
A welcome guide should make a stay easier. Here is what we store, who can read it, and how you can remove it.
What we store
- A host account: the host's email address and display name.
- Each property's details as text, and an optional cover photo.
- For guests-only guides, the email addresses the host adds as guests.
Cover photos are compressed and stored with the guide, not in a public folder.
Who can read a guide?
The host who owns a guide can see it, as can guests the host invites. If a guide is not set to guests-only, anyone with its link or QR code can read it. A link can be passed on, so an open guide is not private.
Guests-only guides open only for the email addresses the host has added.
Wi-Fi passwords, key-box codes and any other text a host types are stored as-is. They are shown to anyone who can open the guide. Only include details you are comfortable sharing with those readers.
The AI assistant
The assistant answers questions using the guide text. It is told to answer only from that guide, although AI can still make mistakes.
When a guest asks something, the guide text is looked up on the server rather than sent by the browser, so the assistant can only ever be asked about a guide the visitor is allowed to open.
No advertising tracking
This app adds no advertising trackers, analytics cookies or third-party pixels.
Keeping a copy or removing your data
Hosts can download their account data from the dashboard and delete any property there.
Hosts can also delete their whole account and everything it owns from the dashboard. This removes their guides, the guest email addresses on those guides, and their sign-in. Account deletion cannot be undone.
If you are a guest, ask your host to remove your email address from their guide.
